Per visit or per year
Two ways of doing this, and they cost different amounts for a reason.

When to prune what
Timing matters more than technique for most plants, and getting it wrong costs you a season of flowering.
- Hedges: June and late August. Not between mid-March and mid-July if birds are nesting — that is a legal restriction here, not a courtesy.
- Roses: February or March, before they shoot.
- Fruit trees: winter, when the leaves are off and you can see the shape.
- Lawn: from March to October, every one to two weeks.
Bird nesting season
Dutch nature law protects nesting birds. In practice that means hedge and tree work between mid-March and mid-July needs a check first, and we will say no if there is an active nest. That is not us being careful — it carries a fine.
How working with us actually goes
You send a short description of the job. We come and look, in person, and you get a written quote with the work broken down per item — no lump sum that hides what you are paying for.
- We speak English on site and in writing.
- The quote is fixed unless you change the job; if we hit something we could not see beforehand, you hear it before we carry on.
- We work across Amsterdam and the surrounding area, so travel is not billed as a separate surprise.
- Green waste is removed and disposed of properly.
If you are renting, check with your landlord first: in the Netherlands the division between tenant and owner for garden work is set in the rental contract, and it decides who pays.
